Want to Win?

Be sure to visit Mandy, owner of Limelight Papercrafts sometime this week. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post to be entered into a random drawing for one package EACH of the White Pearl Strips and Silver Rhinestone Strips!

Here is a card I struggled with tonight. I couldn't figure a layout so I lopped off the right side of the image panel. That was smart! So here is my attempt at trying to "fix" it. I layered the sentiment panel on top of a Heidi Swapp ghost star - I love these things. Paper is from Kaisercraft and the stamp set is Sweet Pea from Pink Cat Studio. Not sure where I got the buttons from, other than my stash. TFL!

Sunday Thanks

Last night I started making a thank you card but was too tired to finish. It was nearly 1am by the time I went to bed last night and was wide awake at 7:30 this morning! So much for sleeping in :)

Anyhow, I had my "thank you" sentiment picked out - a rub-on from SU that reads Thanks a Bunch... When searching through my stash of stamps I remembered this new-to-me stamp from DRS Designs Ladybug Stack Up. I love, love, love this image and think it works really well with a "bunch" sentiment! Red, White and Black is such a dynamic color combo - so this was an easy card to put together for me.

And here is the finished inside:

I hope you are having a great Sunday so far! I have nothing planned for the day, so we'll see how much I actually get done. If it's anything like yesterday... not a lot! LOL :)

Stamps: Ladybug Stack Up (DRS Designs)
Paper: PTI white, SU red, Making Memories dp
Ink: Memento
Accessories: button, gingham ribbon, SU rub-on, Stickles, scallop border punch, Copics

Ladies in the Limelight - #25

Happy Thursday chickies! One day closer to the weekend - I know I'm ready for it *now*! So, if you are joining me from Mandy's blog (or any of the other fabulous DT members) then you are here for the Limelight Papercraft sketch and product challenge. This week we are focusing on buttons! Limelight carries a huge variety of buttons from Basic Grey - and it matches all that yummy Basic Grey paper!

I decided the focal point of my card would be one of those super *yummy* fabulous Lollipop Primas! There are a couple different colors available but I think the pink ones are my favorite. My natural instinct is to hoard these babies! Aren't they just lovely? Also used some of the new October Afternoon Ducks in a Row 8x8 paper that comes in a tidy little paper pad. I really prefer the pads over the larger 12x12 sheets when I'm making cards.

Now, this lime green piece... wait til you see where this came from... If you haven't already seen, Basic Grey is now carrying designer cardstock in their wonderful pallet of bright, fun, and oh-so-distressed colors. I am loving these new papers!  The alphabet stickers are from Pink Paislee (love the font!) and the buttons are from my stash.

So here is the fun part!  It's your turn to come and play with us.  We'd love to see what you can do with this sketch and buttons!  Here are the details you need to play along:

**Use the sketch provided and have buttons incorporated somewhere on your card
**Keyword for SCS upload is LLPC025.
**Post a comment with a link to your card on MANDY'S BLOG by Sunday, July 12, at midnight
**PRIZE ~ one lucky (random) winner will receive a package of Basic Grey buttons of their choice!!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the design team for some inspiring cards!  Links are on my side bar ---------->

love... is where the <3 is

After a lot of pushing paper and stamps around, I finally figured out a card to make. I made this specifically for Unity's Guest DT challenge over on the SCS forums. There are still a couple of days left if you want to try your luck :)

I started of with my very favorite white cardstock from PTI. I used 3 different stamps from Unity's May Kit of the Month. The strip of designer paper is Cosmo Cricket and the ribbon is Making Memories. The buttons are from my stash.

I have another idea for a card using the bugs from the June KOTM, so we'll see if I'm feeling crafty tomorrow after work :)

Have a great day!

xoxo

Stars & Stripes - Limelight Style!

Good morning ladies! I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend. My hubby and I did a little unpacking and cleaning (him more than me) but overall it was very relaxing. My favorite kind! I did make a few cards on Friday since I was off from work due to the holiday but nothing that I can show you *just yet* :) I do have a project I came up with over the weekend for Limelight Papercraft's big July project.

Each month Mandy of Limelight Papercrafts challenges the design team to make a project in a specific theme. This month we were challenged to make something with Stars & Stripes. It didn't have to be patriotic per say, but to incorporate these designs somewhere in your project.

I am the first one to admit that I am horrible at planning ahead for these projects and tend to do them just a couple of days before they are due. The problem with that is I don't allow myself enough time to plan to get things from the store to incorporate into my projects according to the theme, so I'm always scrambling at the last minute trying to make it work from what I already own. This month was no exception!

After going back and forth about what to make, I finally decided on making some fans. I figure being in the middle of summer, the fans might be nice to use at an outdoor BBQ to keep cool from the heat.

and here is another view...

and some close ups of the fans...

I used lots of different October Afternoon paper from the Detours and Ducks in a Row lines. Holly Doodle alphabet stickers in chocolate and raspberry from Pink Paislee. Adhesive backed pearls and rhinestones from Kaisercraft. An assortment of ribbon including tulle, ric rac, gingham, and crochet all from Limelight Papercrafts. I picked up the popsicle sticks from Michael's, the silver bucket from Target $1 spot and the buttons are from my stash.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Limelight Papercrafts design team for some fabulous Stars & Stripes themed projects!

Hip Hop Hangover Unity Style

Hello and happy Hip Hop Hangover! I made this layout last night while listening to a Harry Potter audiobook with the hubby. I have today off due to the holiday (yay!) so I hope to get some stuff done around the house. We moved in well over a month ago and we still haven't finished unpacking. Admittedly most of the mess is mine... :)

Here is a close-up of the flowers... I layered them a few times and popped each layer up using foam mounting squares. Clicking on the pictures will make them bigger!

I used Unity stamps from the Kit of the Month sets from March and April. I loosely followed this month's Unity Guest DT sketch posted over in the Unity forums on Splitcoast. Designer paper from Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon.

Thanks for looking! Have a fun and safe holiday weekend :)

ETA: I just realized I didn't put a "title" on my page. I'm such a newb!

Ladies in the Limelight - #24

Hello and welcome to another installment of Limelight Papercraft's sketch and product challenge! This week we are featuring RIBBON as our product focus. Now who doesn't love ribbon?? I have a tiny confession to make... I don't *love* ribbon, but I try to use it often as sometimes it really makes a card... I don't know... finished? I know I'm in the minority here :) My card today features some of my favorite ribbon. Not typically what you might think of as it's a crocheted ribbon rather than a grosgrain, satin or twill.

My card uses more of that yummy October Afternoon paper from the Detours line. I cannot get enough of this stuff!! I've also used Unity stamps Owl Always Love You. One thing I really love about this stamp kit is the stamps are BIG and would be perfect on a scrapbook layout. I've used some Stickles on the owl's tummy's. The ribbon is from Pink Paislee's Tinsel Town line. Love this stuff!

As always, we would love it if you would play along. Here are the details...

**Use the sketch provided and use some of your favorite ribbon!
**Keyword for SCS upload is LLPC024.
**Post a comment with a link to your card on MANDY'S BLOG by Sunday, June 28, at midnight
**PRIZE ~ Five yards of ribbon - winner's choice! (winner will be chosen randomly from all participants)

Sleeping Fairy Sweetness

**second post for today**

I sooo love Fridays! I only work 4 hours on Fridays so I get to start my weekend off early!

Odd Bird Planet has issued a fun sketch challenge. Of course I *had* to play along! How could I not - I love my Odd Bird Planet stamps!! I think Debbie came up with this one. I really love the placement of the sentiment of this sketch.

I started my card last night choosing the stamps I wanted to work with. I've used Kelly's Fairy Flowers and Kelly's Sleeping Fairy Right along with the Sweetness sentiment.  After coloring with Copics and before deciding on using the sketch challenge, I was struggling with a layout so put them down for the night.

Here I am today - with a sketch and a color scheme to match my colored images!  The designer paper is the backside of one of Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird papers (Sunrise).  This has got to be my FAVORITE paper right now.  LOVE it!!  I've used some fabulous purple/pink textured ribbon from May Arts.  The prima was originally white.  I used one of my Copic markers to color it the same shade as the fairy's dress.  I've topped the prima off with a yellow dew drop.

Now that I've told you all about these awesome stamps, I should let you in on a little secret... Odd Bird Planet is celebrating it's third birthday with HUGE savings for you (and me, tee hee!) Go HERE for all the deets!   Secret Password: bday3 (This coupon code must be entered during the checkout process)

In addition to the HUGE sale - Odd Bird Planet's special for the month is also on sale. You only have about 10 days left to take advantage of this bundle...

If you play along using at least one Odd Bird Planet stamp, make sure you post your creation HERE at the new Odd Bird Planeteers Flickr Group!

Hip Hop Hangover with Unity Stamps

Yesterday I missed out on the all Hip Hop festivities but managed to sneak this card in last night while doing some Father's Day stuff. From what I read on Angela's blog - there is a GREAT sale going on this weekend!!

For my card I've used the Distressed Dots background stamp, the bird from Giggle Grove, the journaling block from the September KOTM and the Dream sentiment is from the March KOTM. I've used just a smidge of October Afternoon Good Cheer paper on the bird. The bird's eye is a Hot Pink Kaisercraft rhinestone and the button is something I picked up from my LSS. The black satin ribbon is from May Arts.

I typically purchase my Unity stamps from Limelight Papercrafts since it's a one-stop shop! I can pick up the latest paper releases of some of my favorite companies (ie October Afternoon, Basic Grey) along with all the fun accessories to make the perfect card!

ETA: I totally cased Amy Rohl!

Celebrating Dad

Father's Day will be upon us soon. I figured I had waited long enough to start *thinking* about what I was going to do. My hubby asked me to make something for my FIL so after a lot of pushing paper around I came up with this.

No stamping on this one. I've used designer paper from the Detours line from October Afternoon and two pieces from the coordinating Detours Die-Cut Shapes. The orange button is from Basic Grey and the alpha stickers are from American Crafts Thickers.

In celebration of Father's Day, take 10% off of your ENTIRE order at Limelight Papercrafts by entering "FATHER" at checkout! While you are there, be sure to check out the new stuff from October Afternoon, Kaisercraft Rhinestones and Pink Cat Studio.

Keurig K-Cup Holder

Sorry I've been so quiet lately. I messed up my upper back at work and it hurts when I use my upper body too much so crafting has been minimal the last few days. I did manage to finally finish my Keurig K-Cup holder last night. I found a tutorial on SCS - you can find it HERE. Last Christmas I bought my husband a Keurig coffee maker and we LOVE it! It's so awesome to be able to whip up a cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate - you name it! There are TONS of different varieties available.

I've used some of the new coffee themed stamps that were released over the weekend from DRS Designs. I especially love the one I've used on the top of the lid (Coffee Sign).

Here is a shot of the outside of the box. DRS Designs has tons of fun background stamps. I've used Easy Swirl Background for the background of the lid.

And here is the inside. I used my Nestabilites to trace circles on the brown paper and then used an exacto knife to cut the circles out.
